Etymology
Chen (2021): Pictogram (象形): a man holding a carpenter's square. Original character for 矩 (OC *kʷaʔ, “carpenter's square”). The man, originally 大 corrupted first into 夫 and then into 矢. In some versions, a semantic 木 (“tree”) can be seen. Shuowen mistakenly interprets it as a compound; however, 巨 is a later simplification. ; “(physics) moment”
