Pictogram (象形): a tree (木) with superposed or lush branches. Likely the original form of 枚 (OC *mɯːl, “stem; branch”). ; "not yet" ; "eighth earthly branch" : As for its association with the goat, Ferlus (2013) notes there is good correspondence with Austronesian Atayal miːts (“lamb”); also compare Lao ມົດ (mot, “year of the lamb”).
